They were married in 1874, had a daughter, Katherine, in 1875 and in 1876 Adam was burned at the WERK Co. when a vat of boiling fat spilled on his head. From that time until his death in 1890 he was rather incapacitated. There is a court case that is in some state law journals regarding Adam's case against his employer.
