Nancy Shively was born 9-March-1851 (per WV death certificate) in Franklin County, VA and died 25-July-1939 in Beaver, Raleigh County, WV. (Her birthdate does not agree with the 1870 census which lists her being born ca 1861.) She was the daughter of Daniel Shively and Sarah Thomas who were married 20-October-1853 in Franklin County. Nancy Shively married John C. Kincaid. Listed on the 1900 Raleigh County, WV census is the household of John Kincaid born May 1850, wife Nancy born March 1861, son Samuel born October 1878, son Edward born March 1883, daughter Ruth born December 1886, son Harrison born August 1888, son Plumer born April 1890, son Johnie born May 1892, son Dan born March 1894, daughter Sarah F born March 1896 and son Schley born May 1898. An additional daughter, Letha M born ca. 1901 is listed on the 1910 census record for this family.

Rites For Beaver Woman Tomorrow
Mrs. Nancy Kincaid Succumbs To Four-Day Illness
Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Kincaid, 78, who died at her home in Beaver yesterday morning after a four-day illness, will be conducted at the Beaver Community church Thursday afternoon by the Rev. E. W. Powers and the Rev. Blue Jay cemetery.
Death was due to complications resulting from old age.
Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Shively, she was born in Franklin county, Va., on March 9, 1851. Her husband, John C. Kincaid, died in 1920.
Mrs. Kincaid was a member of the Baptist church.
She is survived by three brothers, Jake Shively, Dave Shively, and Daniel Shively, all of Farrum, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Adeline Simon, Schoolfield, Va.; three sons, Edward Kincaid, John C. Kincaid, and Shelley Kincaid, all of Beaver; step-son, Samuel Kincaid, Beaver, and a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Arnold. She also leaves two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The body will be removed to the home of Ed. Kincaid at Beaver Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted at the Beaver Community church Thursday afternoon by the Rev. E. W. Powers, of Beckley; and the Rev. L. H. Burns, of East Beckley. Burial will be in the Blue Jay cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Slaughter, Dewey Slaughter, Jules Gautler, Charles Waddell, Don Bigelow, Sam Harford and Basil Plumley.
Flower bearers are Helen Dillon, Louise Harris, Evelyn Redden, Ethel Pitzer, Ruby Pitzer and Doris Dillon.
