This site was created by Larry Shively who is researching the history of the Shively families. The goal is to have a site where all Shively researchers can share and ask questions in regards to their Shively lines. The largest majority of the Shively family records are located in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. There are early records of Shively's also in Virginia and Kentucky. There are not many established Shively lineages back to Europe. There are documented lineages to Switzerland and Germany. Through the sharing of information from all of our research it is desired that all can learn about our Shively families.

Guy Valentine Shively From Emmet County, Iowa To Faribault County, Minnesota

Guy Valentine Shively was born in Aug-1894 and died 9-Nov-1932 in Faribault County, MN. He was the son of Daniel S. Shively (14-Jul-1851 - 2-Apr-1899) and Tammie "Fannie" O. Cannon.  Daniel S. Shively was the son of Alexander Valentine Shively and Agnes Adams. For additional information on this family read the Shively blog article written on 10-Mar-2012. Guy Valentine Shively was a brother to Oliver Lionel Shively who was the subject of the Shively blog article written on 21-Jan-2018.  Guy Valentine Shively did not marry.

Located on the 1900 Swea Township, Kossuth County, IA census is the household of Tammie Shively born Jan-1854 age 46, daughter Gertrude born Apr-1886 age 14, daughter Florence born Jun-1892 age 7 and son Guy born Aug-1894 age 5.  Located on the 1920 Pilot Grove Township, Faribault County census is the family of Roy Woolery age 38, daughter Florence age 14, son Robert age 11, daughter Elizabeth age 9, daughter age 7, son Richard age 5 and hired man Guy Shively age 23.  Listed on the 1930 Minnehaha County South, Dakota census is the household of Edwin Canfield age 52, wife Agnes age 49, son Dick R. age 13, son Robert O. age 12, daughter Norrine N age 9, son Claud D. age 5 and brother in law Guy Shivley age 35.

Bury Veteran At Armstrong
Guy Shively, Shell Shock Victim Called
Armstrong, Nov. 15 -- Guy Shively died at the home of his sister at Elmore, Minn., Tuesday. Funeral services were held at Elmore and burial was made in the Armstrong cemetery.
Guy Shively was born and raised in Armstrong. He served in the world war, in which he was shell shocked and had never been well since.
