William Grover Shivley was born on 3-Feb-1889 Lockseven, West Virginia and died 2-Aug-1957 in Allegany County, MD. He was the son of William H. Shivley and Elizabeth Jennie Pring. Willliam Grover Shivley married 1st Edith F. Nunemaker who passed away on 27-Apr-1947 in Baltimore, MD. He married 2nd Melvina M. Blacklin who had first married Maurice A. Cubbage who died in 1944 in World War II. Melvina was born 8-Jan-1921 and died 26-Dec-1995 in Cumberland, Allegany County, MD.

William G. Shivley
William Grover Shivley, 68, husband of Melvina (Blacklin) Shivley, 129 Arch Street, died yesterday in Newton D. Baker VA Center, Martinsburg, W. Va. He had been in ill health for serval weeks.
He was born at Lock Seven, W. Va. and was retired from the U. S. Army with 30 years of service.
He was a member of Henry Hart Post 1411; Monumental Lodge 96, AF&AM; Forest 45, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Baltimore; the IOOF of Baltimore; Rebeccas of Baltimore, and a member of the National Association of Civil Employes.
The body is at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, where services will be conducted Monday at 4 p.m. Rev. T. Wilbur Lawton, pastor of Southminster Presbyterian Church, will officiate and interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

Edith F. Nunemaker Shivley, wife of William Shivley, 816 St. Paul street, Baltimore, died yesterday morning at 12:40 o'clock in University hospital, Baltimore, where she was a surgical patient. She was 52.
Surviving besides her husband are three brothers and a sister, Ralph E. Nunemaker, 267 South Belvidere avenue; Paul Nunemaker, 332 North Newberry street, Mrs. William Knokey, 285 Cottage Hill road, and Chester Nunemaker, 818 North Duke street.
She was a member and past president of Ladies' auxiliary No. 3, Patriarch Militant, IOOF; Lt. George B. Redwood auxiliary No . 193, Veterans of Foreign Wars; Ladies of the Orient M.D. of P. Aden Zuanna No. 80, LOTO; Ladies' auxiliary, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Unit No. 122, and also Maryland state chaplain of this group; Martha Washington Rebekah lodge No. 8, IOOF, in which she was past noble grand. She received a decoration of chivalry from the last mentioned organization. All of these associations are in Baltimore. In addition she was a member of Mammy Ruggles Tent No. 50, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, York.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. (DST) from the family residence, 818 North Duke street. Rev. Dr. Carl N. Mundis, pastor of Fifth EUB church, will officiate. Interment will be in Prospect Hill cemetery.
