This site was created by Larry Shively who is researching the history of the Shively families. The goal is to have a site where all Shively researchers can share and ask questions in regards to their Shively lines. The largest majority of the Shively family records are located in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. There are early records of Shively's also in Virginia and Kentucky. There are not many established Shively lineages back to Europe. There are documented lineages to Switzerland and Germany. Through the sharing of information from all of our research it is desired that all can learn about our Shively families.

[Lines written by a son.]
"The flowers that bloom in spring time shall wither in the fall;
Be ready for the parting. It must come to one and all.
If you are only ready, you will have no fear of death,
And with your Heavenly Father you shall find eternal rest.

The roses bloom but briefly; man's life is here the same,
And when we're called from off the earth, tears should not fall like rain
For God shall call us soon to leave from this earthly home we've made,
And in the tomb that's made for us our bodies shall be laid."
