The following information regarding the Litzenberg family was found. Adam McClelland Litzenberg was born 22-Apr-1864 in Hancock County, OH and died 12-Oct-1935 in Hancock County. He married Elizabeth Ellen Shively, daughter of James Shively and Mary Treece, on 3-May-1885 in Henry County, OH. Elizabeth Ellen Shively Litzenberg was born 17-Jun-1860 and died 18-Jul-1945. Adam M. Litzenberg was the son of James A. Litzenberg (born 9-Jan-1839 in Knox County, OH died 1-Dec-1921 in Hancock County, OH) and Malvina Cramer (1841 – 1865). James A. Litzenberg was the son of Simon Litzenberg (born 24-Oct-1813 in Greene County, PA died 16-Oct-1850 in Hancock County, OH) and Christina Ann Kisor Whistleman (1817 – 1909). Simon Litzenberg was the son of John Litzenberg (born 13-Jun-1786 in Chester County, PA died 7-Mar-1841 in Knox County, OH) and 1st Nancy Ann Prong (1808 – 1826) and 2nd Eleanor Field Hedge-Litzenberg. John Litzenberg was the son of George Litzenberg (22-Oct-1758 died 10-May-1841) and Grace Coates. George Litzenberg was commissioned a Lieutenant in First Company, Sixth Battalion, Chester County, PA Militia on 10-May-1780. He re-enlisted in 1781 and again in 1782.

Two Years Illness Of Cancer Ends In Death At Home Saturday Evening
Adam McClelland Litzenberg, 71, life-long resident of Hancock county, died at 8:50 o’clock Saturday evening at his home in Portage township ending a two years illness of cancer of the kidney.
Mr. Litzenberg, a farmer, was a member of the McComb Church of Christ. He was born 22-Apr-1864 near Cannonsburg, the son of James and Melvina (Cramer) Litzenberg. His wife, Eliza Shively Litzenberg survives. Children living are James Albert Litzenberg, of Liberty township; Mrs. H. F. Sites, of near McComb; Mrs. Earl Keene, of Conneaut Lake, Pa. Stepsons are John Shively, of Sturgis, Mich. And Otto Litzenberg, of Lima.
One brother, Charles Wesley Litzenberg, of Findlay, survives. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10 o’clock Tuesday morning from the McComb Church of Christ, of which he was a member. Burial will be in McComb cemetery.
The body was taken to the Renschler funeral home and was taken to the home Sunday afternoon.
James Albert Litzenberg was the son of Adam Litzenberg and Elizabeth Shively. He was born 6-Feb-1887 in Henry County, OH and died 17-Dec-1957. James Litzenberg married Mamie Williams on 23-Nov-1913 in Monroe County, MI. She was the daughter of George Williams and Mary Korte. Services Thursday For Retired Barber
James Albert Litzenberg, 70, 0f 332 Cherry St., a retired barber, died in Blanchard Valley Hospital at 7:50 p.m. yesterday of cancer following a three-year illness.
He was born in Henry County Feb. 6, 1887, a son of Adam and Eliza (Shively) Litzenberg. He married Mamie Williams, and she survives, along with the following children:
Mrs. Vivian Breitigam and Miss Mildred E. Litzenberg, Findlay; Mrs. Mary E. Decker, Arlington; Delvin E., Charlestown, Ind. and Mrs. Dorothea Helms, Dunkirk.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; a brother Ott, of Lima; two sisters, Mrs. Meda Sites, of Findlay and Mrs. Zelma Keene, Conneaut Lake, Pa., and a half brother, John Shively, Sturgis, Mich.
Services will be held in the Coldren Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Conrad O. Diehm officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today.

Mamie M. Litzenberg
Mamie M. Litzenberg, 93, of 921 Markle St and formerly of 255 Prospect Ave died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was born Jan 20, 1895 in Wood County to George and Mary (Korte) Williams. She married James Albert Litzenberg on Nov 25, 1913, and he died Dec 17, 1957.
She is survived by a son, Delvin E. of Lemon Grove, Calif.; three daughters, Mildred Litzenberg, Dorothea I. Helms and Mrs. Ralph (Vivian) Breitigam, all of Findlay; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Litzenberg was a retired employee of Tasty Taters, where she worked for 33 years. She was a charter member of the Parkview Church of Christ and its Ladies Aid group.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Harry R. McFadden officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m today and from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

The following clipping from the Chattanooga Times, Charranooga, Tenn., tells of the wedding on Friday, June 10, of Corporal Delvin E. Litzenberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Litzenberg, of 720 Cleveland avenue, who attended the wedding ceremony.
“The marriage of Miss Ruth Irene Fuller and Corpl. Delvin E. Litzenberg, of Findlay, O, was solemnized last evening at 8 o’clock at the new post chapel at Fort Oglethorpe, with Chaplain Callahan officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Fuller, of 3200 Twelfth avenue, and the sister of Misses Frances Margaret and Mary Virginia Fuller and Hugh D. Fuller. She was graduated from Central high school, class of 1940.
The bridgegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Litzenberg, of Findlay, and the brother of Mrs. Carl Decker, of Arlington, O., Mrs. Ralph Breitigam of Findlay, and Misses Mildred and Dorothea Litzenberg of Findlay.
He is now stationed at Fort Oglethorpe after graduating from the mechanic school at Fort Moultrie, S. C. He was a mechanic before being called into the service.
Attendants were Miss Frances Margaret Fuller, maid of honor, Private First Class Duane Carlson, of Flint, Mich., best man, Patsy Ruth Pemberton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Pemberton, of Winchester, flower girl, Private First Class John Heider, of Canton, O., Corpl. Arthur Ward, of Convoy, O., and Sergt. James Crowther, of Philadephia, ushers.
The bride wore white lace and marquisette with veil caught to tiara of lace with clusters of orange blossoms at either side. She carried Madonna lilies and white carnations.
Miss Fuller wore azure blue lace and marquisette, and the flower girl, sky blue organdie. Mrs. Fuller, mother of the bride, was in blue crepe and Mrs. Litzenberg, mother of the bride-groom, wore old rose crepe. Both had corsages of harmonizing gladioli.
The attendants flowers were Madonna lilies and pink carnations. The little flower girl scattered white rose petals in the path of the bride.
The bride and bridegroom will reside with her parents in East Lake for the present after they return from a wedding trip. The bridegroom’s parents came from Findlay, O., to attend the wedding.”
