Shively Reunion
Sebring, Sept. 19 -- The first Shively family reunion was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Bauman, south of Sebring. It was well attended those present being Henry Hahn, Mr. and Mrs. David Hahn and family, Salem; Mr. and Mrs. William Hahn and baby, Alliance; Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Shively, Sebring; Mrs. William Bourne and children, Waynesburg; Mrs. Irvin Moore and children, Mrs. Fannie Headstand and Mrs. Biery, Alliance; Mr. and Mrs. Leander Shively, Jr., also Alexander Shively, Sr., and children, Sebring; Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Burgess and children, East Liverpool; Roy and Gladys Jackson, North Georgetown; Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bush and family, Salem; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bauman and children, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Bauman, Mr. and Mrs. David Bauman, H. It was decided to hold the second reunion the third Sunday in August, 1917. The following officers were elected: President, Lewis Shively; vice president, Mrs. David Hahn; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Fannie Headstand.
Located on the 1900 Smith Township, Mahoning County, Ohio census is the household of Leander Shively born 1856 age 43, wife Lydia born Sep 1855 age 44, daughter Ellie born Aug 1880 age 19, daughter Dorsey born June 1883 age 16, daughter Goanna born Sep 1888 age 11, son David born Oct 1891 age 8, son Willie born Apr 1894 age 6, son Leander born Jul 1896 age 3. The marriage of Leander Shively and Lydia E. Yearly is recorded in the Columbiana County, Ohio marriage records. They were married on 27-January-1876.
The following was extracted from The Evening Review, East Liverpool, Ohio, Saturday, April 16, 1927, Page 11, Column 4:
Leander Shively, 71 years old, former street commissioner and for 27 years a resident of Sebring died at his home on New York avenue Sunday afternoon. Death was due to pneumonia. Besides his wife, Mrs. Lydia Shively, he is survived by six children: Mrs. J. B. Buress and Mrs. J. J. Carner, both of Sebring; Mrs. Bryan McGowan of Tiffin; David, William and Lee Melton Shively of Sebring. Two sisters, Mrs. Ella Bauman of Valley and Mrs. Fanny Sanor of North Georgetown, also survive. Funeral services were held in the home Wednesday afternoon. Burial was made at Grandview cemetery.

Funeral of Leander Shively, 71, for 24 years street commissioner and a resident of Sebring for 27 years was held at his let home in Sebring Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Shively was born and raised in Knox township a son of the late David Shively. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lydia Yeagley Shively and six children, Mrs. J. B. Buress, and Mrs. J. J. Carner, both of Sebring; Mrs. Bryan M. Cowan of Tiffin; David, William and Milton Shively, all of Sebring; and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Bauman of Valley and Mrs. Fannie Sanor of North Georgetown. Burial was made in Grandview cemetery, Sebring.

Funeral Services Wednesday For Sebring Resident, 79
SEBRING -- Funeral services for Mrs. Lydia Ellen Shivly, 79, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Carrier of 631 W. New York ave, Sunday afternoon, will be held at the Carrier home Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Oliver Royer, pastor of Alliance Church of Brethren, of which Mrs. Shively was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview cemetery. Friends may call at the home after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Shively, widow of Leander Shively, is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Anna McGowan of Tiffin, Mrs. Dorsie Burgers and Mrs. Carrier; three sons, David, William and Lee of Sebring; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Carpenter of Sebring, Mrs. June Hoffman and Mrs. Abie Cross of Homeworth, and a brother, William Yeagley of Homeworth.
The marriage for David Shively, son of Leander Shively and Lydia Yeagley could not be located. Listed on the 1930 Smith Township, Village of Sebring, Mahoning County, Ohio is the household of David G. Shively age 39, wife Anna J. age 33, son Berdell T age 15, son Virgil A age 10, son Robert D age 7, and daughter Bertha E age 3 years. Anna Josephine Court was the wife of David Shively and her first marriage is in the photo above. Anna Josephine Court was married to Walter Fred Trautvetter in Hancock County, WVA on 1-July-1914. Located on the 1920 Smith Township, Mahoning County, Ohio is the household of the parents of Anna Josephine Court: William E Court age 47, wife(2nd wife) Myrtle age 44, son Charles age 11, daughter Esther age 8, grandson William Trautvetter age 5. William Trautvetter is found in later records as William Burdell T. Shively. William Burdell T Shively was married to Helen Mae McGrath on 19-Feb-1934 in Hancock County, WVA.

SEBRING -- Services for Mrs. Anna Court Shively, 55, of 296 Pennsylvania Ave., will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. (EDT) at the Moosman-Vogt funeral home. Rev. J. W. Kluges will officiate and burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9.
Mrs. Shively died Sunday morning in Alliance City Hospital after an illness of one year. She was born in Columbiana County and had lived in this vicinity the last 35 years. She was a member of Local 59, National Brotherhood of Operative Potters.
Surviving are her husband, David Shively; three sons Bedroll of Alliance, Virgil and Robert, both of Sebring; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Flanagan of East Canton, Mrs. Grace Seidner of Salem and Mrs. Esther Hunter of Atwater, and two brothers, Charles Court of Alliance and Earl Court, address unknown.
