A kind person would like to see that the 1926 postcard to the left is returned to a Shively family member of Frank C. Shively. Frank C. Shively and wife, Bertie Westover, were the subjects of the Shively blog on November 29, 2014. Frank C. Shively was an employee at the Sharon, Mercer County, Pennsylvania bank.

The 1961 newspaper obituary for Frank C. Shively mentions he was survived by two cousins, W. B. Shively and F. L. Shively, both of Berlin Center, Mahoning County, Ohio. Research shows that Frank C. Shively was the son of Jeremiah Shively. W. B. Shively and F. L. Shively were the sons of Lawrence Shively. Jeremiah Shively and Lawrence Shively were sons of Lawrance Shively and Margaret Best.

F. L. Shivelys To Observe Anniversary
BERLIN CENTER -- Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Shively of Berlin Center will have open house on Sunday from 2 p.m. to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Shively were married at the home of the bride in East Palestine.
The couple have six children, Mrs. Averill Strickling of Akron, George Shively of Ashtabula, Virgil Shively of Champion, Dale Shively of Warren, Mrs. William Paxson of Lordstown and Mrs. Harold Cook of Cincinnati. There are 15 grandchildren.
The couple spent most of their married life in or near Berlin Center. Mr. Shively is retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad where he was a signal operator for a number of years.

BERLIN CENTER -- Ward Burton Shively, 86, of RD 1 died in the Delp Nursing Home Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. after six years of ill health.
Born in Berlin Twp. Nov. 11, 1881, the son of Lawrence and Emma Carson Shively, he was a retired mail carrier. He belonged to the North Benton United Presbyterian Church, was past president of the Mail Carriers Assn., and past president of the Berlin Center school board.
Preceded in death by his wife, Madge, in 1964, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Helen Taylor of Sebring, a son, Robert of Berlin Center; a brother, Laverne of Ashtabula; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Vogt-Gednetz Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hartnell Cemetery.
