He was the son of Phillip Thurman Shively (born 3-Nov-1903 and died 2-Dec-1977) and Paralee Bowen (born 13-Aug-1905 and died 4-Dec-1998). Phillip Thurman Shively was the son of William Sigmund Shively (born Mar-1861 in Ohio and died 12-Feb-1933 in Howard County, MO) and Virginia "Jennie" F. Bentley , Kan. (born 16-Apr-1867 in Chariton County, MO and died 16-Aug-1946 in Jackson County, MO). William Sigmund Shively was the son of Jacob Shively (born 1-Nov-1827 in Jefferson County, OH and died 13-Oct-1897 in Chariton County, MO) and Isabel Reed (born 21-Jun-1830 in Jefferson County, OH and died 17-Jun-1911 in Chariton County, MO). Jacob Shively was the son of Richard Shively (1808-1887) and Mary Calvert who were in Jefferson County, Ohio.

Phillip L. Shively, 71, a 26-year resident of Desert Hot Springs, died on April 5, 2000, in Rancho Mirage.
He was born on Oct. 30, 1928 to Phillip T. and Paralee B. Shively at Kansas City, Kan. He married Irene R. Illes on Dec. 10, 1964, in Las Vegas.
Mr. Shively was a self-employed real estate manager in Los Angeles for 15 years and an artist/sculptor in Desert Hot Springs for 25 years.
He served in the Navy in 1944 and 1945.
Mr. Shively is survived by his wife, Irene of Desert Hot Springs and his daughter, Nancy Dow of Palm Desert.
Services will be private.
Interment will be in Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Los Angeles with Rose Mortuary of Desert Hot Springs in charge of arrangements.

GRAVOIS MILLS --Phillip Thurman Shively, 74, died Friday at the Ellis-Fischel Hospital in Columbia.
He was born Nov. 3, 1903, in Glasgow, son of the late Sigmund and Virginia Bentley Shively. On Feb. 22, 1922, he married Miss Paralee Bowen, who survives of the home here.
He was retired stationary fireman for the Corn Products Co. of North Kansas City.
Surviving is a son, Phillip LeRoy Shively, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles, with the Rev. Carlton Cassidy officiating.
Burial will be in the Versailles Cemetery.
Friends may call after 12 noon Sunday at the funeral home.

Obituary
Mrs. Isabelle Shively, born June 21, 1830, died at the home of her son, George Shively June 17, 1911. She was a native of Ohio, and her maiden name was Isabelle Reid. Married to Jacob Shively at Jefferson County Ohio, December 23, 1852 coming to Missouri in May 1867 and living in Howard county until 1880, moving to Chariton county in that year. Her husband Jacob Shively died in 1898 and since that time she lived with her son Lou until his death two years ago, after which she made her home with her other children. Grandma Shively died a member of the Helna church, Methodist, tho in early life was converted and became a member of the Campbellite church at her girlhood home. She was the mother of six boys and six girls, eight of whom survive her. Her remains were laid to final rest in the cemetery at Glasgow, funeral services having been conducted at the residence of her son George Shively by Rev. J. A. Snarr.
