This site was created by Larry Shively who is researching the history of the Shively families. The goal is to have a site where all Shively researchers can share and ask questions in regards to their Shively lines. The largest majority of the Shively family records are located in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. There are early records of Shively's also in Virginia and Kentucky. There are not many established Shively lineages back to Europe. There are documented lineages to Switzerland and Germany. Through the sharing of information from all of our research it is desired that all can learn about our Shively families.

Harold Warren Shively And Anna Beulah Smith From Union County And Snyder County, Pennsylvania

Harold And Anna Beulah Shively
Harold Warren Shively was born on 19-April-1899.  He died in 1929 after falling from a ladder.  Harold was married to Anna Beulah Smith who was born about 1899 and died prior to 1930.  They were the parents of two daughters, Sylvia M. Shively and Alberta F. Shively. The daughters were raised by their uncle and aunt, Norman and Verna E. Smith Jarrett, after the death of Harold and Anna. Sylvia was married to Mr. Domulevicz and Alberta was married to George Parkhurst.
Thanks go to the great-grandson of Warren and Beulah, Todd Mondok, for the photo included at the left and the following obituary:
Snyder County Man Is Killed At Lebanon
Harold W. Shively, 29, Bricklayer, Dies In Plunge From Ladder Late Yesterday.--Family Grief-Stricken.
Word was received late yesterday that, Harold W. Shively, a native of Snyder County and until a few years ago a resident of that section, was killed in a fall at Lebanon, where he has been employed from some time past.
Mrs. C. N. Jarrett of Rolling Green received the word, a telegram bearing meager details of the tragedy.
The ill-fated young man was employed by a Lebanon contractor as a brick-layer. While working high above the ground and standing on a ladder, he lost his foothold and plunged to the earth.  Fellow workmen rushed to his assistance and hurried him to the city hospital at that place where he died within a few hours, probably from a fractured skull sustained in striking the ground with terrible force.
Mr. Shively was aged 29 years and is survived by his wife and two children.  One sister, Mrs. Mary Weirick of Northumberland and one brother, Arthur of Milton, and several nephews also survive.
No definite particulars as to the young man's death had been received by the Jarrett family up until a late hour this afternoon.  The death of the young man comes as a severe shock to his family and a host of friends who join in mourning his demise.
Undertaker F. K. Sutton of Selinsgrove left this morning for Lebanon to get the remains.  Funeral services will be held from the Jarrett home at Rolling Green with Rev. J. F. Drumm officiating.  Interment will be made in the West Side cemetery.
