Richard O. Shively was born on 22-Sep-1870 in Jefferson County, OH and died on 29-Jul-1949 in Linn County, IA.   He was the son of George W. Shively (born 7-Aug-1844, died 1-Jul-1922) and Margaret Brindley (died 27-Mar-1919).  George W. Shively was the son of Richard Shively and his second wife, Jane Smith.  Richard Shively was the son of John Shively and Nancy Hall.  Richard O. Shively was married to Bertha Leora Hanna in Linn County, IA on 22-Jan-1896.  Bertha was the daughter of Elizabeth Hamilton Lacey and her 2nd husband Matthew Hanna. Bertha was born on 23-Jun-1874 in Wayne County, OH and died 4-Oct-1938.

Listed on the 1880 Warren Township, Jefferson County, OH census is the family of George Shively age 36, wife Margaret, son Richard age 9, son Louis age 8, daughter Ida age 5 and son Henry age 2.  Located on the 1900 Linn County, IA census are Richard Shively born Sep-1870 age 29, wife Bertha L. born Jun-1874 age 25 and daughter Hazel A. born Dec-1896 age 3.  On the 1910 Marion City, Marion Township, Linn County, IA census is the family of Richard O. Shively age 39, wife Bertha L. age 35, daughter Hazel A. age 13, son Frank W. age 9, son Robert W. age 6 and son Melvin M. age 6 months. On the 1930 Marion City, Marion Township, Linn County, IA census is the household of Richard O. Shively age 58, wife Bertha age 55, son Robert age 26 and son Melvin age 20.

R. O. Shively Is Dead; Funeral at 2:30 Sunday

R. O. Shively, 78, of 2534 Fifth avenue, Marion, a retired Milwaukee railway employe, died at 3:17 a.m. Friday in a Cedar Rapids  hospital following a short illness.

Mr. Shively was born in Ohio, Sept. 22, 1870. He went to Central City in 1892 and was married there Jan. 22, 1896, to Bertha L. Hanna. Mr. and Mrs. Shively moved to Marion in 1903. Mrs. Shively died Oct. 4, 1938. Mr. Shively retired in 1937. He was a member of the Central City Christian church and of Unit 29, Brotherhood of Retired and Veteran Railway Employes.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Sheldon of Asbury Park, N. J.; three sons, Frank of Milwaukee, Robert of Cedar Rapids and Melvin Shively of Chicago; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Plummer and Lewis Shively, and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Wilson and Mrs. Nora Kneubuhl, all of Columbus, Ohio.

Services will be conducted at the Yocom chapel at 2:30 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. C. V. R. DeJong. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.

Bertha Leora Hanna Shively

Services Today For Mrs. Bertha Shively

Death came early Tuesday morning to Mrs. Bertha Leora Shively at the family residence, 2534 Fifth avenue, Marion, her home for 35 years. The end came after a two years illness. She was born June 23, 1874 at Bevan, Wayne county, Ohio, the daughter of Matthew and Elizabeth Hamilton Hanna. In 1881 the family moved to Hayes Center, Nebr., and ten years later came to Central City, Iowa, where on January 22, 1896, she was married to Richard O. Shively who survives, together with their four children, Mrs. Hazel Sheldon of Chicago and Frank W., of Milwaukee, Robert W. of Perry, and Melvin M. of Chicago.

Other surviving relatives are a brother, H. J. Lacey of Culbertson, Nebr., and three grandchildren, Jeanne Sheldon of Chicago; Betty Shively of Milwaukee and Donald Chase Shively of Perry. Mrs. Shively was a grand-niece of Senator Mark Hanna of Ohio. She held her membership in the Christian church at Central City.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Yocum chapel, in charge of the Rev. C. V. R. DeJong, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Out of respect for Mrs. Shively's wishes, her body will be cremated and her ashes interred in the family lot in Oak Shade cemetery.

Obituary Of Mrs. E. Jobes

Elizabeth Hamilton was born in Springville, Jefferson county, Ohio, in 1830, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Shively of this city, April 2, 1912, being 82 years of age. She was married three times, her husbands being Mr. Amos Lacey, Mr. Matthew Hanna, and Mr. Kerby Jobes, all of whom are deceased. Her family consists of seven surviving children, six by her first husband and one by her second husband. Mrs. Jobes was a woman of strong personality, a great worker, a good mother, and a friend to all who needed her. She was a member of the Methodist church and did the best she could to help humanity. She came from Central City to Marion about four years ago, and made her home here ever since. The funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Shively, on Fifth avenue, and were conducted on Thursday afternoon by Rev. S. R. Beatty, pastor of the Methodist church, interment being made in Oak Shade cemetery.

Edward Franklin Shively was born on 11-Nov-1878 in Montgomery County, OH and died on 15-Sep-1950 in Butler County, OH.  He was the son of Joseph Ullery Shively (1850-1936) and Martha "Mattie" A. Brubaker (1856-1920).  Edward Shively married Margaret Elizabeth Harlan on 24-Dec-1906 in Montgomery County, OH.  She was the daughter of Benjamin and Margaret Harlan.  Margaret died on 15-Jun-1967 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

E. F. Shively, Prominent Banker Here Quarter Of Century, Dies

A man who made banking history in Middletown before his retirement less than two years ago, E. F. Shively, 72, died at 5:45 a.m. today after an illness of six months.

Mr. Shively, who still was a director of the First American Bank, which he served as vice president and director for almost a quarter of a century, was active in many civic endeavors until ill health forced him further to retire into private life.

Mr. Shively was a recognized authority on banking when he came to Middletown in January of 1925 to become a director of the then First and Merchants National Bank, predecessor of the First National Bank. He had been a national bank examiner for a number of years, and his vast knowledge of the banking business was recognized throughout the state.

Born and educated in Dayton, Mr. Shively was a graduate of Trotwood High School and received his financial background in studies at Miami-Jacobs Business College in Dayton.

Calvin W. Verity, president of the First National Bank, said this morning upon learning of Mr. Shively's death, "he served for a quarter of a century as a top official in our bank, and he will be greatly missed by our officers, board of directors and employes."

"Mr. Shively in his very quiet way gave consideration to the problems that were brought before him, and he was able to be helpful over the years to a great many people."

"While Mr. Shively had been retired for almost two years, until recently he had been an active member of the board, and because of his experience, his advice and counsel will be greatly missed."

While his duties as executive vice president of the bank were time-consuming and demanding, he still found time to lend his talents to civic activities and to his Presbyterian faith.

He was a life member of the board of governors of the Civic Association and of its executive committee, served the YMCA as a director, and found a place in his busy life to share his knowledge with the various committees of the Ohio Bankers Association and the Butler County Bankers Association.

During World War II, he was chairman of the Middletown War Loan Committee and directed six war loan campaigns under the supervision of the U. S. Treasury Department, raising funds in the Middletown area to assist in financing the war. In each drive under Mr. Shively, the quotas were exceeded by wide margins.

A member of the First Presbyterian Church, he served it for many years both as a deacon and as an elder.

Mr. Shively retired from the First National Bank as executive vice president in January of 1949, but still remained an adviser as a director of the bank. At that time he moved his residence from Route 25, now occupied by Dr. and Mrs. E. O. Bauer, and with Mrs. Shively moved to the Bauer's apartment at 64 South Main St.

Surviving him are the widow, Mrs. Margaret Shively; one son, Edward H. Shively of Middletown; one daughter, Mrs. Norman Hagedorn, and two grandchildren, Charles and James Hagedorn. 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Wilson Funeral Home. The Rev. Russell Galloway of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.

Ex-Bank Executive's Widow Dies In Florida

Private graveside services for Mrs. Margaret E. Shively, 84, formerly of 2901 Grand Ave. and widow of Edward F. Shively, will be held at Woodside Cemetery, with Dr. Irvin Emmons officiating.

Mrs. Shively moved from Middletown to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., about two months ago. She died Thursday in a rest home in Florida after an extended illness.

Her husband was executive vice president of the First American Bank & Trust Co. and the First National Bank of Middletown.

Surviving are a son, E. H. Shively of Raymond, Maine; a daughter Mrs. Ruth Hagedorn of Ft. Lauderdale; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by the Wilson Memorial Home. There will be no visitations.

John Henry Shively, Son Of Stephen Mitchell Shively, From Taylor County, Kentucky

John Henry Shively was born on 12-Oct-1884 in Taylor County, KY and died 20-Apr-1951 in Steuben County, IN. John was the son of Stephen Mitchell Shively and his 2nd wife Matilda Wise. Stephen Mitchell Shively was the son of John B. Shively and Sarah "Sally" Heaverin. John B. Shively was the son of John Shively and Susannah Hayden.

John Henry Shively was married on 5-Nov-1910 in Knox County, IL to Ethel Bailey Broyles.  Ethel was born 28-Jul-1888 in Boyle County, KY and died 30-Dec-1976 in Boyle County, KY.  She was the daughter of Thompson Broyles and Bettie D. Goode.  Around 1926 Ethel married a second time to Harve Collier.  John Henry would have still be living at this time so he and Ethel must have gotten a divorce.

A newspaper article indicates that in February 1911 J. H. Shively moved to Galesburg, Knox County, IL where he had accepted a position as "motorman".  Another newspaper article from March 1913 indicates he had been badly hurt by a motor car and that one limb would have to be amputated. John is listed on the WWI Registration card as tall, slender, brown eyes and black hair but no physical disqualifications so not sure if mentioned amputation had to be done.  At the time or registration John and Ethel were living in Georgetown, Scott County, KY where he was a collector for Singer Sewing Machine Company. 

John Shively is listed on the 1910 Galesburg Township, Knox County, IL census in the household of Ernest True and occupation of hired man. On the 1920 City School Precinct, Georgetown City, Scott County, Ky census in the household of Sallie B. Long is listed John Shively age 36 married and an agent for sewing machine company. On the1930 Harrodsburg City, Mercer County, KY census John Shiveley age 45 single is listed as a repair worker for sewing machine company.

John H. Shively, 66, died early Friday at the home of a sister, Mrs. Charles Patterson, of near Fremont. Also surviving is another sister, Mrs. Mary Raffety of Louisville, Kentucky. Funeral services for Mr. Shively were held Sunday afternoon at the Reams Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Litchfield officiating and burial was in the Lakeside cemetery.

Mrs. Ethel B. Collier

MITCHELLSBURG (Spl.) -- Mrs. Ethel Broyles Collier, 88, of Mitchellsburg, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Elliotts Health Care Center, Harrodsburg, after a long illness.

Born in Boyle County July 28, 1888 to the late Thompson and Betty Goode Broyles, she was a widow of Harve Collier. She belonged to Mitchellsburg United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. Margaret King of Danville; a foster brother, Gilbert Broyles of Mitchellsburg; three nieces and five nephews including Clarence and Louis Broyles, both of Mitchellsburg, W. G. Broyles of Danville and Arthur Broyels of Parksville; 11 great-nephews and 13 great-nieces.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday and Coyle Funeral Home by the Rev. Gene Wilkins with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Perryville.

Friends may call at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Noah Parsons, Carl Best, Louis, Arthur, Ira Lee and W. G. Broyles.

Mollie N. Shively Who Lived In Payne County, Oklahoma

Mollie N. Shively was born on 30-Nov-1864 in Indiana and died on 30-Oct-1957 in Stillwater, Payne County, Oklahoma. Mollie was the daughter of William Shively (1831-1885) and Margaret J. Woodsides (1840-1898). Listed on the 1860 Ninevah Township, Johnson County, IN census are William Shively age 29, wife Margaret age 22 and daughter Susan E. On the 1880 Harvey Township, Cowley County, KS census is the family of William Shively age 52, wife Margaret age 41, daughter Susan age 19, daughter Annie N. age 18, daughter Mary N. age 15 and song Charles W. age 12.  On the 1910 Stillwater City, Payne County, OK census in the household of H. Chambliss is M. N. Shively age 45.  On the 1920 Stillwater Ward 2, Payne County, OK census is Mollie N. Shively age 55 and roomer Laura French. Listed on the 1930 Stillwater Ward 2, Payne County, OK census are M. N. Shively age 65 a housekeeper in private family and niece Effie Moore age 25.

Mollie N. Shively was married first to James C. Day. Mollie was married second to William L. Swartz on 28-Aug-1910 in Payne County, OK.  At some point Mollie N Shively abandoned her married names and resumed using her maiden name. She died on 30-Oct-1957 and is buried in Fairlawn Cemetery, Stillwater, Payne County, OK.

Mother Finds Child After 35-Year Wait

Mrs. Mollie Shivley, Stillwater, Locates Daughter Who Had Been Missing For Many 

Years

The thirty-five year search of a Stillwater woman for her daughter, who was taken from her when the child was 5, has resulted in success, it was learned Wednesday and Mrs. Mollie Shivley, living on Duncan street, has established communication with her daughter.

Mrs. Susie Long is the daughter’s name and her home is in Southgate, Calif.

For many years Mrs. Shivley considered her daughter dead, when efforts to locate her struck blind trails. Recently, especially in the last two years, the mother was heartened in her search by scattered bits of information that finally led to the establishment of communications. R. D. Lahman family, for whom Mrs. Shivley worked for some time, aided materially in the search.

The story is one of tragic efforts that extended over the long period of years during which the little girl was growing in womanhood. Mrs. Shivley’s first husband, Jim Day, deserted her thirty-five years ago. The mother related that he kidnaped his daughter, Susie, then 5, and his whereabouts could not be located. The years sped along and no word was learned. The Days lived near Skiatook when the family was broken up.

Now it has been learned that Jim Day took his small daughter to Wichita, Kans., and remarried. Neighbors took custody of the little girl shortly after. She remembered her mother and efforts to find her were made, but the child had no proper information.

Later Susie went to Kansas City, later to California. Through recent newspaper advertisements, Kansas acquaintances enabled Mrs. Shivley to pick up the trail. She has a letter from her daughter, as has Mr. Lahman. The father, Jim Day, died a year ago in Wichita, it has been learned.

Kidnaped forty years ago when a babe in arms, Mrs. Susie Long, 8424 San Carlos avenue, South Gate, last night was preparing to return to her mother, Mrs. James C. Day of Stillwater, Okla., to end a search of four decades.

When Mrs. Long was three years of age her father, James C. Day, in a fit of spite stole the baby from his wife. He kept her hidden for three years and then permitted her adoption by another family. The baby then became Susie Collins and as years passed she forgot her mother and was told by her father that she had died. Sue Collins grew up, married George F. Long and moved to California. A daughter was born to her eleven years ago and the years rolled away with the stolen child now forty-three years of age, living in the belief that she was without parents or relatives.

Faith Survives

This long passage of time, however, did not dim the faith of the mother that her baby daughter was yet alive and that some day she would find her. Ever since the kidnaping the mother has tried to locate her missing child. Postmasters over the entire country have received her plea to aid in her search, newspapers have carried notices requesting any information from any source. But all to no avail.

Then into the moving world came the radio.

Annually stations broadcast the search of the mother and still no word came that would end the hunt and let the mother know the whereabouts of her long-last child. Two weeks ago another broadcast went out from a Kansas City station. A woman in St. Joseph, Mo., a girlhood chum of Susie Collins, heard the plea. She wrote to the lonely mother in her Oklahoma home, telling here of her school days and friendship with a girl who answered the description given.

Trail Confused

The mother as years passed had taken her maiden name of Mollie Shively and her daughter had changed by marriage from Collins to Long. This added more difficulties to the mother’s search. She did not lose hope, but renewed her efforts through the postoffices. Finally came word that she might find her daughter in California. Then the Los Angeles search with its final ending at the modest home in South Gate. Letters and photographs were exchanged and a forty-year search was over.

The kidnap victim is going to Oklahoma, accompanied by her daughter, and they will bring back with them to spend the declining years of her life the mother who never lost hope when time seemed to work against fulfillment of her faith.

Mrs. Shively Dies At 92

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday in Strode chapel for Mrs. Mollie E. Shively, 92, 311 Maple ave., who died Wednesday at Caney, Kans.

The Rev. Henry A. Morton of the First Methodist church, will officiate with interment at Fairlawn cemetery under the direction of the Strode funeral home.

Mrs. Shively was born in Indiana on Nov. 30, 1864, and moved to Payne county in 1890. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Susie Day Long, Joshua Tree, Calif., and three nephews, Jap Owens, 723 N. Ramsey st., Cal Owens, 116 S. Ridge road, and Carl Sample of Oxford, Kans.

George Schaufele (Shively) was born ca. 1823 in Wurttemburg, Germany and died on 17-Jun-1885 in Ionia County, MI.  George was married to Regina (Rachael) Cutler.  Located on the 1870 Easton, Ionia County, MI census is the family of George Schaufele age 42, wife Jennie age 39, son John age 16, son George age 14, daughter Sophia age 8, daughter Christiana age 4 and daughter Barbara age 3. Listed on the 1880 Easton, Ionia County, MI census is the household of George Shively age 55, wife Mary age 50, daughter Sophia age 18, daughter Christina age 15 and daughter Barbara age 12. Listed on the 1890 Veterans census in 1st ward, city of Ionia, Ionia County, MI is Regina, widow of George Schaufele.

Miss Tena Shively

Miss Tena Shively, died last Thursday, at her sister-in-laws, Mrs. Jessie Shively, 737 Prince street, Grand Rapids. Heart trouble was the cause. Miss Shively and niece, Mrs. Glen Gould of Ionia, had just returned a few days before from a visit with Miss Shively's sister at Minneapolis, Minn.

Miss Shively was a resident in Lansing for about 25 years and was employed at the state capitol for 15 years. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. P. J. Shelhorn at Minneapolis, a brother, John Shively of Grand Rapids, and sister-in-law, Mrs. Jessie Shively of Grand Rapids; three nieces and three nephews, and a number of relatives at Ionia.

Funeral was held at Lyzen's chapel at Grand Rapids, Saturday.

Emil Schively was born on 7-Apr-1854 in Nelson, Buffalo County, MN and died 25-Mar-1942 in Wabasha, Wabasha County, MN.  He was the son of Christian Schively (Schaublein) and Ann B. Sturzenegger.  Emil Schively married Mary Niegg on 22-Feb-1892, daughter of Joseph and Mary Markadont Niegg.  Mary Niegg was born 11-Sep-1879 in Wabasha County, MN and died 30-Sep-1975.  Mary married 2nd George Scheer after the death of Emil Schively.

Nelson Township's First White Child, Emil Schively, Dies

Nelson, Wis. - (Special) - Emil Schively (Schaeublin), 82, Wabasha, former resident and first white child born in the town of Nelson, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the home of his son Fred of Wabasha, where he recently had been making his home.

Mr. Schively, son of Christian and Barbara Stutznegger Schaeublin, was born April 7, 1859, in the town of Nelson.

He married Mary Nigg of Wabasha February 22, 1892.  They lived on a farm about one mile north of Nelson which they later sold to Ben Larson. Afterward they spent two years at Rollingstone and then several years in the state of Washington. Coming back to Nelson, Mr. Schively made his home for several years at the Claude Hetrick home. During the last two years, he spent part of the time at the Carl Haugen home.

He is survived by the following children: Fred of Wabasha, Mrs. Charles (Hazel) Mathias and Porter of Winona, and Mrs. Henry (Amy) Darling of Quincy, Ill. A son Water drowned at Winona last summer.

Funeral arrangements were being completed today.  Burial my take place at Nelson.

Emil Schively, 89, Buried At Nelson

Nelson, Wis. -- (Special) -- Funeral services for Emil Schively, 87, town of Nelson, who died Wednesday at the home of his son Frederick at Wabasha after an illness of three months, were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the community hall here, the Rev. Edward Mohr officiating.

Mr. Schively, son of Christ and Barbara Schively, was born in the town of Nelson April 7, 1854, and lived in the community all his life. He married Mary Niegg February 22, 1895. They had five children. Mr. Schively was one of a family of six children. He had been in failing health for three months.

Survivors are four children, Frederick of Wabasha, Mrs. Charles (Hazel) Mathias of Winona; Mrs. Henry (Amy) Darling of Quincy, Ill., and Porter of Rollingstone; nine grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Sophia Walwirth of Portland, Ore. One son, Walter, and four sisters, Mary, Sarah, Rose and Rosetta , are dead.

Those from out-of-town who attended the services included Philip and Louis White and the latter's son of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Birmingham and Mr. and Mrs. Noble Birmingham of Holcomb, Wis., Mrs. Minnie Schively and Claude Harper of Downsville, Wis. and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Mathias and daughter Loretta and John and Peter Niegg, Wabasha.

Mrs. Mary A. Scheer

Mrs. Mary A. Scheer, 96, a resident of Snyder Nursing Home, Rushville, Ill., died at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday at Culbertson Hospital, Rushville. She was a former Winona resident.

The daughter of Joseph and Mary Markadont Niegg, she was born at Wabasha, Minn., Sept 11, 1879. She married Emil Schively. He died in March 1942. She married George Scheer. He died in May, 1957. She was a former member of Winona Neville-Lein Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1287 auxiliary.

Survivors are: two sons, Fred and John Shively, Wabasha, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Darling, Vermont, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. One son, one daughter, six brothers and four sisters have died.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Martin Funeral Chapel, Winona, the Rev. Robert Wiseman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday after 7 p.m. and Friday from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

John And Anna Shively From Switzerland To Dunn County, Wisconsin

John Shively was born ca. 1818 in Switzerland and died in Nov-1893 in Downsville, Dunn County, WI.  John was married to Anna (last name unknown) who was born ca. 1825 in Switzerland and died 31-Aug-1900 in Downsville, Dunn County, WI.

Listed on the 1860 Town of Dunn, Dunn County, WI census are John Sheibley age 39 occupation of carpenter, wife Anna age 35, daughter Eliza age 6, daughter Mary age 4 and daughter Amelia age 1. Located on the 1870 Dunn County, WI census is the household of Jno. Shively age 51, wife Anna age 44, daughter Eliza age 16, daughter Mary age 13, daughter Amelia age 11, daughter Matilda age 9, daughter Rosena age 6 and son Fred age 4. Recorded on the 1880 Downsville Township 27, Dunn County, WI census is the family of John Shively age 60 occupation of wagon maker, wife Anna age 56, daughter Matilda age 18, daughter Rosana age 16, son John F. age 14, boarder William age 50 occupation of blacksmith, boarder William McIvor age 21 occupation of works in mill and boarder Edward Petterson age 21 occupation of works in mill.

John Shively, for thirty-seven years a resident of Downsville, died at his home in that city, Nov. 6, aged 75 years. The deceased was a mill-wright and for many years was in the employ of Knapp, Stont & Co. Company. He was anniversally esteemed for sterling integrity and kindness of heart, and leaves many friends to mourn his death.

Elizabeth Shively was born Dec. 18, 1855, at Reeds Landing, Minn. Nineteen years later she was married to Jacob Kistner, who preceded her in death twenty-eight years ago. To them were born six children, three of whom are living: Fred, Maud and Freeman. They were with her at the time of her death.

2) Located in The Dunn County News, Menomonie, Wisconsin, Thursday, December 30, 1926, Page 5, Column 2:

Mary Anna Shively was born in Eau Galle on March 29, 1856. She came to Downsville with her parents when she was three years old. She was baptized in the German Lutheran church in 1862.

She was married at Downsville on May 2, 1878, to Louis O. Harper, who died 34 years ago. To this union were born two children: Claude M. Harper, Downsville, and Hazel E. Harper, Alameda, Cal.  She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Kistner and Mrs. William McIvor, and a brother, Fred Shively, all of Downsville. 

Mrs. Mary Harper joined the Rebekah lodge 39 years ago and had until her death been a faithful member of that order.

Mrs. Amelia Kistner

Mrs. Amelia Kistner, a resident of the town of Dunn, died Friday morning Jan. 18, at six o'clock at the City hospital where she had been a patient for nine weeks. Old age complications caused her death.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at one o'clock from the Hintzman Funeral Chapel and two o'clock at the Downsville church with Rev. John M. Woerth, pastor of Frieden's Lutheran church, in charge of the services. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Kistner was a faithful wife and mother. She was loved by all who knew her and those who called at her home always received a helping hand and kind deeds. She was a Christian and will be sadly missed by her family and relatives. She was the last of the older generation of the Shively and Kistner families to be called to the great beyond.Besides her two children, Mrs. Kistner leaves to mourn her loss, five grandchildren, Norman Johnson, Orlie, Jaeger, Violet and Opal Straton.

Mrs. William McIvor

Mrs. William McIvor of Downsville died at her home Friday afternoon, Sept. 28, after an illness of about six years. Funeral services were conducted at the Lutheran church in Downsville Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. John M. Woerth, pastor of Friedens Lutheran church. Burial was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.

Mathilda Shively was born in Downsville Feb. 14, 1861 and has lived in Downsville practically her entire life. She was united in marriage to William McIvor at Downsville in 1883. To them were born six children, two having died in infancy.

Surviving are her husband, four sons, Guy of New York City, Lloyd and Marshall of Downsville, and Noble of White Bear, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Andrew Kistner, of Downsville, and one brother, Fred Shively, of Downsville.

5) Rosena Shively was born 29-Jan-1862 and died 5-Jun-1896. She is buried in Rosehill Cemetery, Menomonie,  Dunn County, WI.

6) The following was found in The Dunn County News, Menomonie, Wisconsin, Thursday, December 7, 1933, Page 6, Column 1:

Fred Shively

Fred Shively, a resident of Downsville all his life, died Monday evening, Dec. 4, at 8:30 o'clock at the City hospital, following an operation. He was 67 years old. Funeral services were held this afternoon at one o'clock from the home and at 1:30 o'clock at the German Lutheran church, Rev. John M. Woerth officiated. Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mr. Shively was born in Downsville April 1, 1866, and resided there all his life. He was married in Menomonie Aug. 10, 1895 to Sarah Minerva Van Allen. Three sons were born to this union.

Until three years ago, Mr. Shively was a road patrolman for 14 years.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Gilbert and Ivan of Milwaukee, and Darcy, at home and one sister, Amelia Kistner, Downsville. Three sisters preceded him in death.
