Seeking information on Joseph R. Shively born April or May 1861 in Taylor County, KY. It is not known when or where Joseph died.  Joseph was the son of Robert W. Shively and Rosalie Minerva Rice who lived in Taylor County, KY then moved to Kansas, returned to Taylor County, KY and passed away living in Mississippi County, MO.

Listed on the 1860 Division No 1, Taylor County, KY census are R. W. Shively age 33, wife Rose A. age 26, son Jno. A. age 9, daughter T. Jane age 6, daughter Sarah E. age 4 and daughter Mary V. age 2.  Located on the 1880 Mansville District, Taylor County, KY census is Robert Shively age 54, wife Roseallie age 46, son David R. age 19, son Samuel age 15, daughter Margrett age 10, daughter Rosealli age 8, and son Henry age 6.

Thrisa Jane Shively was born on 25-Oct-1852(1853) in Taylor County, KY and died 3-Mar-1886. She is buried in the Saint Francis de Sales Cemetery in Taylor County, KY.  Thrisa Jane married George W. It is believed that John Shively was the son of Michael Shively.

A Notable Wedding Near Covel

The wedding of Mr. C. W. Shively and Miss Flora Barclay occurred Tuesday evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Barclay. Mr. Barclay is a wealthy farmer living two miles west of Covel. The mystic words were pronounced by Rev. H. Vanderwert, formerly of Stanford, now of Centralia, MO. After the many congratulations they were all summoned to the dining-room, where the usual wedding feast was enjoyed by all.
