Seeking information on Joseph R. Shively born April or May 1861 in Taylor County, KY. It is not known when or where Joseph died.  Joseph was the son of Robert W. Shively and Rosalie Minerva Rice who lived in Taylor County, KY then moved to Kansas, returned to Taylor County, KY and passed away living in Mississippi County, MO.

Listed on the 1860 Division No 1, Taylor County, KY census are R. W. Shively age 33, wife Rose A. age 26, son Jno. A. age 9, daughter T. Jane age 6, daughter Sarah E. age 4 and daughter Mary V. age 2.  Located on the 1880 Mansville District, Taylor County, KY census is Robert Shively age 54, wife Roseallie age 46, son David R. age 19, son Samuel age 15, daughter Margrett age 10, daughter Rosealli age 8, and son Henry age 6.

Thrisa Jane Shively was born on 25-Oct-1852(1853) in Taylor County, KY and died 3-Mar-1886. She is buried in the Saint Francis de Sales Cemetery in Taylor County, KY.  Thrisa Jane married George W. Bradley on 28-Apr-1871 in Franklin County, KS.  Listed on the 1880 Mansville District, Taylor County, KY census are George Bradley age 30, wife Thresa age 27, daughter Rosa age 8, daughter Ella age 6, daughter Elinor age 4, and son David age 2.  George W. Bradley remarried after the death of Thrisa Jane Shively Bradley. Listed on the 1900 Ohio Township, Mississippi County, MO is the household of Charles Wyatt born Sep-1867 age 32, wife Bertha A. born Jul-1882 age 17, step father in law George W. Bradley born Jun-1850 age 49, married 13 years, mother in law Matilda E. born Dec-1861 age 38, brother in law William J. born Jul-1888 age 11, brother in law Frank W. born May-1894 and step brother in law Elmer born Feb-1878 age 22. George W. Bradley was born 17-Jun-1850 in Missouri and died 8-Nov-1912 in Mississippi County, MO.  Place of burial is listed as Charleston, MO on his MO death certificate.

Joseph R. Shively was living with his sister and brother in law, Thrisa Jane Shively Bradley and George W. Bradley in 1885 in Lincoln County, KS.  Listed on the 1885 Neosho, Lincoln County, KS state census is the household of Geo.  W. Bradley age 34, wife Thrisa J. age 30, daughter Frances R. age 12, daughter Eady B. age 10, son George E. age 8, son John D. age 5, daughter Annie M. age 3, daughter Bernetha S. age 1, Benj. F. Bradley age 24 and David R. Shively age 24.

David R. Shively has not been located on the records after 1885 in Lincoln County, KS. Any additional information on him would be appreciate.   David R. Shively was the son of Robert W. Shively and Rosalie Minerva Rice. Robert W. Shively was the son of John B. Shively and Sarah Heaverin.  John B. Shively was the son of John Shively and Susannah Hayden. It is believed that John Shively was the son of Michael Shively.

A Notable Wedding Near Covel
The wedding of Mr. C. W. Shively and Miss Flora Barclay occurred Tuesday evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Barclay. Mr. Barclay is a wealthy farmer living two miles west of Covel. The mystic words were pronounced by Rev. H. Vanderwert, formerly of Stanford, now of Centralia, MO. After the many congratulations they were all summoned to the dining-room, where the usual wedding feast was enjoyed by all. Mary Victoria Shively was born on 1-Nov-1858 in Taylor County, KY and died 6-Apr-1897 in Independence County, AR.  Mary was the daughter of Robert W. Shively (born 8-Jan-1826  Taylor County, KY died 18-Aug-1903 Mississippi County, MO) and Rosalie M. Rice (born 11-Mar-1834 Taylor County, KY died 18-Dec-1897 Mississippi County, MO).  Robert W. Shively was the son of John B. Shively and Sarah "Sally" Heaverin.  John B. Shively was the son of John Shively and Susannah Hayden. 

Mary Victoria Shively married James Toridy (also spelled Tordy, Toirdy, Toddy) who was born 4-Jun-1856 and died 28-Oct-1924. Mary and James were married on 9-Oct-1876 in Jackson County, AR. Both are buried in Maple Springs Cemetery, Batesville, Independence County, AR.
