This site was created by Larry Shively who is researching the history of the Shively families. The goal is to have a site where all Shively researchers can share and ask questions in regards to their Shively lines. The largest majority of the Shively family records are located in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. There are early records of Shively's also in Virginia and Kentucky. There are not many established Shively lineages back to Europe. There are documented lineages to Switzerland and Germany. Through the sharing of information from all of our research it is desired that all can learn about our Shively families.

Passed Away
Mrs. L. D. Shively Died At Her Home 801 South 19th Street Saturday Evening
The unpleasant visitation of the angel of death is keenly felt in our presence and the happy home circle is broken.
Lizzie, wife of L. D. Shively died Saturday evening at her home at No. 801 South 19th street after a brief illness.
Death came unexpected and robbed a happy home of a fond and indulgent mother and a kind and affectionate wife as well as a loved and esteemed neighbor and citizen.
Lizzie was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Israel Brubaker and was born in Western Howard county thirty-six years ago.  She was married to L. D. Shively eighteen years ago.  They resided at Flora, Ind., for several years after their marriage and removed to this city a few years ago.
The deceased was of a kind and gentle disposition and to know her was to be her friend. Her life has been one of usefulness.  No day was allowed to pass without the action of some worthy deed at her hands.  She was a conscientious and faithful christian lady ever dutiful in her labors for the master. Her whole life has been so lived that the world is better for her having lived in it.  She leaves a heart-broken husband and five children who have the universal sympathy of the entire community in their sad hour of bereavement.
The funeral services were held at the family residence this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock by Rev. G. W. Alford after which the remains were interred in the city cemetery.
