From information found it is believed that this lineage may be as follows: Ulrich Shively (1722-1776) and Elizabeth Thommen were the parents of Isaac David Shively. Isaac David Shively (1759-1823) and 2nd wife, Lydia Miller (1785-1805) were the parents of David Miller Shively. David Miller Shively (1803-1883) and 1st wife Hannah Clapp (1807-1842) were the parents of Harvey Shively. Harvey Shively (1836-1916) and wife Sarah Jane Lacy (1840-1892) were the parents of Levi Shively. Levi Shively (1871-1965) and wife Effie May Smith (1878-1950) were the parents of Otis C. Shively.  Otis C. Shively Shively married Aileen R. West.

He is buried in Burntwood Cem. Harvey Shively/Sarah Jane Lacy Marriage

Harvey Shively was born 4-Mar-1836 Darke County, Ohio and died 29-Jan-1916. He is buried in Swamp College Cem., Mercer County, Ohio.  He married Sarah Jane Lacey on 7-Sep-1857 in Mercer County, Ohio.  Sarah was born 9-Aug-1840 and died 15-Oct-1892. The Grim Reaper

Harvey Shively, age 79 years, 10 months and 25 days died Saturday, January 29, at his home four miles northwest of Coldwater. Death was due to heart trouble.

Deceased was born in Darke county, March 4, 1836. March 18, 1854, he moved with his parents to Mercer county. July 25, 1857 he was married to Miss Sarah Jane Lacy, and to this union was born eight children. His wife and three children preceded him in death.

He served in the Civil War in Company D. 193rd regiment, O.V.I.

He is survived by one brother A. W. Shively, Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and two half-brothers, Isaac Shively, Manton, Mich., and Cal Shively, Lawrenceburg, Tenn.

The children are Mrs. John Shatto, Sidney, Ohio; Mrs. Frank Langel, Celina; David Shively, Bryant, Ind., Mrs. Henry Schwartze, of near Coldwater and Lee Shively of near Coldwater. He is survived by thirty grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1 at Beaver Chapel and interment in the cemetery nearby. Rev. F. P. Cordier officiated.

Levi "Lee" Shively was born 20-Sep-1871 in Mercer County, Ohio and died 16-Jun-1965 in Paulding County, Ohio. Lee Shively married Effie May Smith on 26-Aug-1897 in Mercer County, Ohio. Effie May was born 23-Oct-1878 and died 25-Oct-1950. George Angell Shively And Wife, Dana M. Hoel, From Mercer County, Ohio To Kalkaska County, Michigan

George Angell Shively was born 10-Jan-1875 in Salina, Mercer County, Ohio and died 22-Jun-1971 in Kalkaska, Kalkaska County, Michigan.  He was married 18-Jan-1905 to Dana M. Hoel who was born 23-May-1883 and died 3-July-1972.  She was the daughter of John and Lydia Hoel.

George A. Shively was the son of Isaac Shively (born 22-Aug-1847 Darke County, OH died 12-May-1920 Wexford County, MI) and Elmira A. Fitzwater (born 20-Nov-1850 and died 3-Dec-1913 in Wexford County, MI).  Isaac Shively was the son of David Miller Shively (1803-1883) and Esther Angle (1814-1888).

Listed on the 1880 Butler Township, Mercer County, Ohio is the family of Isic Shively age 32, wife Elmiar age 29, son George age 5, son Edward age 3 and daughter Emma age 8 months.

Fife Lake Man Dies At 96

KALKASKA – George A. Shively, 96, of R. 1, Fife Lake, died Tuesday at a Kalkaska hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1914, when he moved from Lansing. He was born January 10, 1885 at Salina, Ohio.

Mr. Shively is survived by his wife, Dana Hoel Shively, whom he married January 18, 1905, at Salina.  Other survivors include three sons, Carl of Fife Lake, Kenneth of Lincoln Park and Novel of Manton; four brothers, Hamer of Oregon, Ray and Carl, both of California, and Roy of Manton; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Garfield Free Methodist Church, where he had been a longtime member. Rev. J. C. Hecocks will officiate and burial will be in the Sheridan Cemetery at Sheridan, Michigan.

The body will be at the Schwartz-Wolfe funeral home in Kalkaska until Friday morning.

SHIVELY – Mrs. Dana M. Shively, 89, of Route 1, Fife Lake passed away Monday evening at the Salem Nursing Home after a long illness. Surviving are three sons, Carl of Fife Lake, Norval of Manton, and Kenneth of Lincoln Park, Mich.; six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Shively was born May 23, 1883 in Ohio, the daughter of John and Lydia Hoel, and was married Jan. 18, 1905 in Salina, Ohio to George Shively. He preceded her in death in 1971. She had been a Kalkaska County resident since 1914 and was a member of the Garfield Free Methodist Church where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday with Rev. J. C. Hecocks officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 Friday at the Sheridan Cemetery in Sheridn, Mich. Friends may call at the Schwartz-Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska until Friday noon when Mrs. Shively will be removed to the church for services.

Isaac Shively was born on 22-August-1847  in Darke County, OH and died 12-May-1920 in Wexford County, MI.  He was the son of David Miller Shively (1803-1883) and Esther Angle (1814-1888).  Isaac was married in Mercer County, OH to Elmira A. Fitzwater on 22-March-1874. Elmira A. Fitzwater was born 20-November-1850 and died 3-December-1913 in Wexford County, MI.  She was the daughter of Phillip Fitzwater and Adeline Hanley.

Joseph E. Shively, Retired Hobart Mfg. Foreman, Dies

Joseph Earl Shively, 85, of 418 S. Wayne, died at 4:15 a.m. in Piqua Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient two days after having been in failing health several years.

Born in Mercer County, March 13, 1885, he was a son of Isaac and Elmira Fitzwater Shively.  He was married to the former Maude Baker on June 5, 1907 in Spencerville.  They moved from Spencerville to Piqua in 1924.

Mr. Shively was a retired foreman at Hobart Manufacturing Co. and a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Maude, a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Grunert (Vonda) of Piqua; two sons, Ashley B. Shively and Paul L. both of Piqua; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and five brothers, Roy Shively of Manton, Mich., George of Fife Lake, Mich., Ray of Modesto, Calif., Carl of Bakersfield, Calif., and Hamer of Eugene, Oregon.

He was preceeded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Services will be conducted by the Rev. Carl Hahn at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Cron Funeral Home with burial in Miami Memorial Park.
