This site was created by Larry Shively who is researching the history of the Shively families. The goal is to have a site where all Shively researchers can share and ask questions in regards to their Shively lines. The largest majority of the Shively family records are located in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. There are early records of Shively's also in Virginia and Kentucky. There are not many established Shively lineages back to Europe. There are documented lineages to Switzerland and Germany. Through the sharing of information from all of our research it is desired that all can learn about our Shively families.

  1. Reaching out to you in the hope that someone can provide some information on Lucinda (Lucy) Shively. Lucy would be my paternal great grandmother. Lucy was born in Farmington (Van Buren County), Iowa in 1855 (as far as I can tell). Daughter of Rev William Shively (?). I have birthdates of both 1823 & 1840 for William. I don't really see that he could have fathered a child at 15 (possible, but not likely)! Records with the 1840 bdate have him marrying Nancy Ellen Easter, but the 1823 records have him marrying Nancy DeMoss. Do you have any record of this Shively at all? Kathy Robinson, kr1062@gmail.com
