This site was created by Larry Shively who is researching the history of the Shively families. The goal is to have a site where all Shively researchers can share and ask questions in regards to their Shively lines. The largest majority of the Shively family records are located in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. There are early records of Shively's also in Virginia and Kentucky. There are not many established Shively lineages back to Europe. There are documented lineages to Switzerland and Germany. Through the sharing of information from all of our research it is desired that all can learn about our Shively families.

Mrs. H. Shively Funeral
Held At Wayland
(Special To The Hawk-Eye) Wayland, Ia., July 10 -- The funeral services for the late Mrs. Harriet Shively were held from the home last Monday afternoon with the Rev. Pritchard in charge assisted by Rev. Polk.
Mrs. Shively, aged 76, had been a resident of this community for many years and before the death of her husband, Jacob Shively, lived on a farm near Coppock where the family of nine children were born, of whom six children and the husband have preceded her in death.
She has lived in Wayland since the death of her husband.  She enjoyed the comforts of her home with her family about her.  About a month ago she suffered a severe attack of influenza from which she never recovered.  The children who remain to mourn the loss of their mother are Mrs. Mary Ballard of Wayland, Mrs. Crete McKune of Washington and Dave Shively of Burlington, with numerous grandchildren, a few great-grandchildren and a large circle of old friends.
For many years she has been a member of the W. B. church at Cottonwood. Interment was in the family lot in the Wayland cemetery.
